Premier Bank has put together a talented team of professionals whose combined banking experience and service orientation, enables us to offer a range of services that meet international standards. The team’s mandate is to ensure that the day to day operations of the Bank are carried out seamlessly and that the Bank’s customers are well taken care of and delighted with the service they receive from Premier Bank.

Mahat Mohammed Ahmed – Managing Director

Mr. Mahat Mohammed Ahmed is a seasoned career banker with over 11 years experience in banking. He is in charge of driving the implementation of the Bank’s overall strategy and the fulfilment of our Mission. Before joining Premier Bank, Mahat was Head of Islamic Banking for Standard Chartered Bank where he helped setup and rollout their global Islamic Banking brand Saadiq in Kenya. Before that, he was previously with Barclays Bank and Gulf African Bank.

Mahat holds numerous qualifications including a Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Systems & Technology and a Global Executive Masters of Business Administration from the United States International University (USIU), Kenya. He has also taken part in several seminars and workshops in Banking and Islamic Finance.

Abdirahman Mohamed Anas – Head of Finance

Mr Abdirahman Mohamed Anas has over 15 years experience in finance and is also a Finance and Accounting lecturer at SIMAD University in Mogadishu.

Prior to joining Premier Bank, he was the Deputy Director Finance and Administration at SIMAD University. He holds a Master of Science Degree in Accounting from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), and a BBA (Business Administration) from SIMAD University.

Abdirahman has written and continues to contribute to various articles relating to Finance and Economics that have been published in the Somali Business Review.

ABDULRAZAK MOHAMED AHMED – Head of Operations

Prior to joining Premier Bank, Abdirizack A. R. Mohamed was the Operations Manager for Dahabshiil Bank where he managed and oversaw the bank’s day-to-day operations in Mogadishu, Somalia. Abdirizack has worked with WABAX (a large Coca Cola distributor) in Mogadishu as a Manager, and as a Lecturer at Al-Neelain University.

He is now finishing a Master Degree in Islamic Finance from INCIEF Malaysia and a postgraduate Diploma in Management from Open University, Malaysia. He has attended various courses in Somalia and the region including International Banking Practice and Anti Money Laundering (AML) in Dubai, Islamic Banking Operations in Djibouti and Compliance, AML and Customer Care in Somalia.

Mohamed Ghedi Jum’ale – Head of HR

Mohamed Ghedi Jum’ale has over 20 years’ experience as a management practitioner and as Chief Accountant/HR Manager at Almustakbal Pharmaceutical Company. Mohamed has worked with various organizations in Somalia and the region. He is also an accomplished academic and Lecturer /Supervisor for postgraduate students at various universities in Somalia namely, Mogadishu University, Horizon International University, Open University of Malaysia. In addition to being a Lecturer, Mohamed has also been involved in various social research projects for various international organisations including UNDP and MSF-Spain.

Mohamed holds a 1st Class Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree in Human Resource Management from the Open University of Malaysia, a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Indian Ocean University and he is currently pursuing a PhD in Human Resource studies from Asia University in Malaysia. Mohamed has also authored and published the “Human Resource Development Handbook” for Mogadishu University.

Abdinasir Hassan Ali – Head of IT

With over 7 experience in the IT field, Abdinasir initially served as the Deputy Head of IT in charge of projects and IT service delivery. His areas of specialization include network security in which he has published two international papers. Abdinasir has also authored a book titled “Wireless Security Handbook 2011”. In his current role, he is in charge of driving the IT strategy of the bank, developing IT policies and procedures and ensuring timely delivery of key projects. Before joining Premier Bank, Abdinasir previously served as the CTO for Telcom Somalia. Abdinasir holds a B.Sc. in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology Lahore, Pakistan and M.Sc. Information Security (Specialized in wireless security) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.
